A Few of My Favorite Tracks #1

My musical tastes are broad-ranging and include all sorts of instrumentation. However, I confess that I’m partial to singers (it figures, right?) and I like a wide array of vocal qualities and styles. Here is the first installment of  just a few of my favorite tracks that I thought I’d share with you. There are so many to choose from! Take a few moments to give these a listen. There may be some songs or singers that are new to you, or perhaps you’ll discover a completely different take on a tune you’ve heard before, or it might just be a rhythmic groove that you dig. Whatever the case may be I hope you enjoy!

1. Lizz Wright Salt
One of the sexiest female voice alive (in my opinion).

2. The Real GroupGood Times
An a cappella group from Stockholm – one of my favorites.

3. Jo LawryI Could Have Danced All Night
Love this introduction and the samba twist on this standard.

5. Kurt Elling
This dude knows how to swing and what a voice!

6. Dianne Reeves – I Am An Endangered Species
This is such a powerful song written by Dianne, and so true.

7. Emily King  – The Switch
A wonderfully soulful singer-songwriter.
